Bryllupsmesse 2020
This past weekend I had the pleasure of attending the annual Bryllupsmesse in Copenhagen. I was looking forward to this for months, as I loved the opportunity to create a little environment that represents my brand. I want to take you through my booth, and the thoughts behind it.
All of the beautiful images below are from the talented and absolutely sweetheart Gea Dancu of Lightbird
Firstly, I am a big believer in taking a holistic approach to my designs and events. I wanted guests to feel like they stepped into a quiet back garden trellis, and feel the spring vibes coming.
I lined my booth with sheer curtains, and dried flowers delicately hanging along them to create a quaint and clam look. The back wall was made up of different pieces of cotton, all dyed naturally with avocados. I loved the handmade and crafted look this brought to the book. Either of these I think could be adapted for a ceremony or reception backdrop.
My table was simple, with handmade ceramic plates from Apato, and cotton gauze napkins dyed with hibiscus. The stationery was made by my dear friend at Molleen Letterpress on handmade paper. It was all placed on a Eucalyptus dyed cotton velvet table cloth. As a couple, it can be costly to use only handmade and carefully crafted items, however, there is a special value to each of these that can make a big impact. I recommend picking one element that is most important to you and would make your day special and finding alternatives for the other elements to remain on budget.
I included both a centrepiece and a “meadow” arrangement at the bottom of the table. I absolutely love the impact a meadow installation can make in the space. It truly softens it and would make a wonderful option for the side of a dessert table, or a gift table that guests may be standing around.
I also featured some of my hand-dyed silk ribbons, along with a sample bouquet. I really enjoy making these ribbons, it makes every single bouquet that much more unique.
Last but not least.. my hanging installation was my absolute favourite part of this booth. I created it without any use of foam, instead opting for reusable water sources to keep the flowers fresh for two full days. I absolutely love the excitement a hanging installation brings into the space. With a few wow factor elements up in the air, it allows you to save on the table decor itself. A lush palette of bright greens, lavender and peach kept things feeling sunny and happy.
It was so great to meet so many of you in real life, along with new couples. To hear your kind words about my work meant so much! I truly am passionate about creating a unique look and experience for each of my couples, and I can’t wait for the new 2020 weddings to come!
