Colour Trend Spot: Dusty Lavender & how to use it in any season

Dare I say it, but blush might be taking a back seat this wedding season. While we will ALWAYS love a good blush in a wedding colour palette, dusty lavender is moving in and making some serious waves in the wedding world.

Still soft, feminine and pretty, dusty lavender offers a fresh take on the blush bouquets we see everywhere. We see it in flowers as both a warm and cool tone depending on the flowers used and it pairs beautifully with both neutrals and colours!

We often associate these light purple colours with spring but it’s easy to bring a dusty lavender into any season, it’s all about what you pair it with!

Here are some of my pin-able colour palettes with dusty lavender, for every wedding season!

Spring

Shall we start with Spring? As the season draws near we can start to see the spring buds popping out, and flowers emerging from the garden and parks. Spring is the time to embrace all of the pretty pastels. Pair a dusty lavender with lemony yellows, a soft pink and some variegated greenery. The mix of white and green will help to calm the arrangement and create that perfect transition of seasons that spring offers us. Would this palette not be perfect with modern but sophisticated a puff sleeve dress?!

Summer

I l o v e the dusty lavender and apricot palette making the rounds lately. It’s a colour palette that frankly can work in every season, but as summer is the most popular wedding season and this is one of my fave palettes on the list, I’m calling on you lovely couples to make this the palette of 2020! It’s fresh, sunny and I’ve still added a bit of blush for the blush-lover club (I am totally a member). One important note, let’s not be afraid to dive beyond eucalyptus here, vivid greens can bring life and excitement into your party and photos!

Fall

Oh, fall how we love you and your warmth. Dusty lavender is the PERFECT addition to your dried neutrals and warm clay tones. Go for an even more greyed lavender along with bright whites that will add a bit of freshness so your decor does not become too heavy with the all of the fall faves. I promise you a level of warm sophistication that cannot be beaten!

Winter

Ok, ok, I’m going to let eucalyptus back in to have its shining moment in this season! A frosty greeny, winter whites and dusty lavenders are all you need for a beautiful winter wedding. Think about glistening icicles, fresh powder snow and a gorgeous tulle dress, together with lavender as your pop of colour, you have the dream elevated winter wedding, without the cheesy factor.
