Ever noticed the difference between using English and Danish keywords while seeking inspiration on Pinterest?

You’re not alone! I often hear from clients “where did you find that?!” or “I’m always on Pinterest, I’ve never seen this!”.

Pinterest is likely to show Danish users more Danish content, makes sense right? It can be really helpful to find vendors in your area who have worked with the venues you have access to. The only problem is, you’re missing out on a whole world of fresh inspiration for your wedding and event!

So how do you open up your search to a larger pool of results? I’m going to share some tips for getting elevated search results on Pinterest and expanding your options!

1. Accounts to Follow

Who you follow will have a big impact on your home feed. Here are a few great accounts (both big and small) that I love to follow.

  • The Lane

  • Style Me Pretty

  • Nord and Mae

  • Oh Flora Studio

  • Coytoe Flowers

  • Acetate La Boite

  • Lisa Mok

  • Blush and Bloom

2. Language

The language you use is key. Aside from switching to searches in English (in addition to your Danish searches), you can replace common words with more unique ones for a targeted approach to start seeing a more refined aesthetic. Here are some common search phrases you can replace with niche industry words to get you started:

  • Table setting = Tablescape

  • Ceremony flowers = wedding/ ceremony arch, flower meadow, flower cloud, etc.

  • Florist = floral designer

  • Wedding dress = bridal gown

  • Flower crown = wearable florals/ flowers

  • Wedding invite = Wedding Stationery

  • Wedding photos = bridal session, couple session/ photography, styled shoot

  • City Hall wedding = intimate elopement

  • Formal/ elegant wedding = fine art wedding/ fine art florals

3. Be specific

Aside from niche industry terms, you should also try to be as specific as possible in your keywords. Use more artistic or unusual words to find even more inspiration. This applies to materials, colours, styles and setups.

  • Instead of “purple bouquet” try “lilac”, “dusty lavender” etc.

  • Instead of “peach wedding decor” try “apricot”

  • Instead of just “invitation” pair it with “calligraphy”, “letterpress”, “handmade paper”

  • Instead of only “table decor” try searching for the layout you need such as “sweetheart table” “harvest table, “sweets/ cake table”

  • Instead of “bar ideas” add your drinks like “cocktails”, “craft beer”, “rosé bar”

  • Instead of searching for bouquets with only a certain flower, try to describe the “essence of the flower” use words like “airy”, “dreamy”, “soft” “romantic”, “modern”, “refined”
